Chief Executive Women founding member Bonnie Boezeman AO established The Bonnie Boezeman AO Leadership in Nursing Scholarship to offer higher education opportunities to Australian female nurses.

Applications are now open for 2022, offering one emerging woman leader in nursing the opportunity to study a Master of Healthcare Leadership at Southern Cross University.

Hear what Daniella Coates, 2019 Scholar, has to say about her experience.

Two years into the pandemic, it is more important than ever that Australia invests in leadership in the nursing profession. Nurses, and our care sector, have been the backbone for many communities throughout this time.

Bonnie Boezeman AO said: “This scholarship helps women in nursing develop the leadership skills to advance their own careers and to invest in leadership in the nursing sector as a whole.”

The successful scholar will participate in the online course over two years of accelerated part-time study, starting in August 2022. Southern Cross University is flexible and supportive, with a real understanding of nurses and the unique needs of shift-workers.

With a focus on clinical practice management, leadership in complex public and private healthcare systems, as well as building skills to support evidence-based health practice, the scholarship recipient will be equipped with research, clinical and management skills for leadership roles within primary health care, community outreach, professional associations, hospitals, private practice, and government agencies.

The scholarship is open to Australian female registered nurses with at least five years’ experience.

Applications close 24 June 2022.
