Denise McComish is a partner and member of the Board of KPMG Australia, one of the world’s largest and most respected professional services firms. Denise provides audit and advisory services to major companies in a variety of industries across mining, infrastructure and financial services, including as lead partner for the firm’s engagements with Wesfarmers and South32 Group.
Denise has been with KPMG for 37 years, 26 of which as a partner, having attained this key leadership role by the age of 29. She has a reputation within the industry as a premier audit partner with outstanding technical knowledge.
At the age of 33, her expertise was recognised through her appointment to the Australian Accounting Standards Board, where she successfully contributed to the board’s intellectual property for a six-year period. In 2011, Denise’s contribution to the firm was formally recognised through an appointment to the KPMG Board.
Denise has played an important role in ensuring KPMG continues to win the accolade of Employer of Choice for Gender Equality by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency. She acts as a mentor both informally, and via a formal program, McKinsey’s ‘Remarkable Women’.
Denise was appointed to the Takeovers Panel in 2013 and was formerly a member of the Corporations and Markets Advisory Committee (2011 – 2014). Denise is Pro-Chancellor at Edith Cowan University and an Advisory Board member of Charity Australian Scholarships Foundation. She was recently an advisor to the Finance and Audit Committee of Western Australian Marine Science Institution and formerly a Director of the Industrial Foundation for Accident Prevention.
