Elizabeth Proust has held leadership roles in the private and public sectors in Australia for over 30 years. Elizabeth left ANZ at the end of 2005 to pursue non-executive roles and to work as a mentor and leadership coach. She has an outstanding track record in leading organisations, and in involvement in a range of arts, charitable, university and business boards. She was made an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2010 for distinguished service to public administration and to business, through leadership roles in government and private enterprise, as a mentor to women, and to the community through contributions to arts, charitable and educational bodies.
Elizabeth is Chairman of Nestle Australia Ltd, and the Bank of Melbourne, a director of Perpetual Ltd, Insurance Manufacturers Australia Pty Ltd, Sports Australia Hall of Fame, a Trustee of the Prince’s Charities Australia, and a member of the Truth, Justice and Healing Council. She is also a member of the JP Morgan Advisory Council, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a director of the AICD. Elizabeth has a Law degree (University of Melbourne) and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from La Trobe University.
Previous board roles include Chairman of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Chairman of the Centre for Dialogue at La Trobe University and a director of Nonprofit Australia.
