Kate Vidgen is a Senior Managing Director of Macquarie Group and Global Head of Principal Investments for Macquarie Capital’s Resources Group. Kate is also a Non-Executive Director of Aurizon Holdings Ltd.
Before joining Macquarie in June 1998, Kate was a solicitor with Mallesons Stephen Jaques specialising in the banking, finance and energy sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Law (Hons), and a Bachelor of Arts (Law, International Relations, Japanese Language) from Bond University, Queensland. She is a graduate (with merit) of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Kate has broad experience across a range of sectors including infrastructure, utilities and telecommunications, with a key focus on the energy and resources sector. Kate has specific expertise in energy products and markets, regulated assets, mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance.
Kate is an active mentor of young women, particularly those working in industries which have traditionally been more restrictive or difficult for women. Kate has an ambition to assist in transitioning Australia to a low carbon environment. This is a focus for her in her current roles and to achieve this on a sustainable basis.
