Anita Jacoby’s career spans 30 years in the broadcast industry as an award-winning news and current affairs journalist and television producer for all the major Australian networks and subscription TV.

Anita was Director of TV and Head of Development & Production for Zapruder’s Other Films, which created and produced many original programs including Enough Rope with Andrew Denton and The Gruen Transfer. More recently she has been Managing Director of ITV Studios Australia, the local arm of this global media company. She plays a key role in the industry’s governance and regulatory affairs as a Member of the Australian Communications and Media Authority.

Anita is a Director of Australia’s peak screen industry body, the Australian Film Institute and The Funding Network and has been a non-executive director of the national mental health initiative, Headspace and the Arts Law Centre of Australia. She has advisory roles with the Belvoir Theatre, Alzheimer’s Association of NSW, the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme (including Chair of their 60th Anniversary Committee) and 1 Million Women. She is also a National Convenor of Women in Media.

In 2013, Anita helped establish the Jacoby Walkley Scholarship in partnership with The Walkley Foundation for Journalism and the Nine Network in recognition of the legacy of her father, Phillip Jacoby. This annual scholarship for final year broadcast journalism students across Australia has seen several participants secure jobs as broadcast journalists at various TV networks.

Anita holds a Graduate Diploma in Media from the Australian Film, TV & Radio School and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She has received numerous awards including five AFI Awards, an AACTA and an Order of Australia Media award.

Anita is a member of the Screen Producers Association of Australia, mentoring and providing advice and support to up and coming producers. Throughout her career she has actively mentored and promoted many young women in to more senior roles. With her work in the national executive of Women in Media, she continues to advocate, support and empower women across the media industry.
