Chief Executive Officer
Anne Cross is the Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of UnitingCare Queensland. Appointed as CEO in November 2003, Anne has responsibility for the Uniting Church's health and community services including the prominent Queensland services provided by UnitingCare Health (including The Wesley Hospital and St Andrew's Hospital), Blue Care and UnitingCare Community (including Lifeline).
UnitingCare Queensland employs more than 15,000 people, has more than 8,000 volunteers and an annual turnover of $1.2 bn. It is embedded in Queensland communities and operates from more than 400 locations. Anne has overseen the merger and growth of the Church's services into an integrated organisation and UnitingCare Queensland is now the largest not for profit in Queensland and one of the largest in Australia.
Anne has over 30 years experience in health and community services in government and non-government organizations. She has served on various government and non-government boards, councils and committees. Anne is passionate about the role of Not for Profits in the community, and the contribution and sustainability of health and community services. She is a member of Queensland Smart State Council and Queensland Health's Reform Strategic Advisory Committee.
While most of her work has been Australian based, Anne has also been in involved in projects in New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, USA and Canada. In 2008, Anne was appointed as an Adjunct Professor in the University of Queensland's School of Social Work and Human Services.
Anne is the recipient of the 2014 Telstra Queensland Women of the Year award.
