Cheryl Bart AO is a lawyer and company director.
She is Chairman of ANZ Trustees Ltd, South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) and the Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education (FARE). Cheryl serves a s a non-executive Director on the boards of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), Spark Infrastructure Ltd, Audio Pixel Holdings Ltd, South Australia Power Networks, the Local Organising Committee of the 2015 Asian Cup and the Australian Himalayan Foundation.
Cheryl is also an award-winning and record-breaking Australian adventurer. Alongside her daughter, Nikki, she was part of the first ever mother/daughter pair to summit the world’s tallest mountain, Mt Everest. They were also the first mother-daughter duo to complete the Seven Summits; climbing the highest peak of every continent in the world.
In 2008, she and her daughter were recognised with the Australian Geographic Spirit of Adventure award.And in 2009, Cheryl was awarded an AO for services to South Australia in economic and cultural development, leadership, work with welfare organisations and contribution to sport.
Cheryl skiied unsupported to the South Pole in January 2012, and is hoping to complete an expedition to the North Pole in April this year. if she is successful, she will be the first Australian woman to complete the Explorer's Grand Slam (Seven Summits plus North and South Pole)
Cheryl is married to Fred Bart and they have two children , Nikki and James.
Cheryl was previous Chairman of the Adelaide Film Festival and the EPA. She has also served on the boards of Soccer Australia, EOS Ltd, APP Corporation, Sydney Ports Corporation and Basketball Australia.
