Non Executive Director
Following in excess of 30 years financial and operational business experience in domestic and off-shore organisations, Christine O'Reilly is currently a non executive director of CSL, Transuban, Stockland, Medibank and Baker IDI. She also served as a director of Energy Australia for 6 years until 2018.
With an early career in finance and corporate strategic advice, Christine migrated into an operational leadership role that led to her appointment as CEO and Director of the GasNet Australia Group (ASX200) which she headed for 5 years until December 2006. The GasNet Australia Group owned, maintained and developed gas transmission pipelines and related infrastructure. Her experience with GasNet encompassed a full life cycle from IPO to a contested takeover and ultimately a recommended sale.
During her leadership she was responsible for GasNet's transformational change, which evolved from a state-owned entity to a leading gas utility.
From July 2007 until September 2012, Christine was the Co-Head of Unlisted Infrastructure Investments at Colonial First State Global Asset Management and a member of the Executive Committee for the Global Asset Management business. In this role, she had overall responsibility for the global unlisted infrastructure business (fund raising, asset identification, selection and acquisition) and direct responsibility for the management of assets that have been acquired by Colonial First State Funds, or on behalf of clients.
Christine’s early work history included an involvement in the reform and establishment of the regulatory framework for the Australian gas industry, 8 years with the investment bank, Centaurus Corporate Advisory Services, and audit experience with Price Waterhouse where she qualified as a chartered accountant.
Christine has also held a number of industry appointments including vice president of the Australian Pipeline Industry Association, Director, VENCorp (Victorian Energy Corporation), Director, Gas Industry Education Trust, and Director, VicTrack.
