Chief Executive Officer
Cindy Hook is Chief Executive Officer of the newly formed Deloitte Asia Pacific Limited.
Cindy began her career as an auditor with Deloitte in San Francisco, before moving to the Australian firm in 2009. Appointed in early 2015, Cindy previously led, transformed and grew the firm’s Assurance & Advisory practice for five years.
Cindy joined Deloitte in 1986 in the US firm’s San Francisco audit practice, where she steadily progressed her career for 23 years before joining Deloitte Australia. Appointed as the firm’s new CEO in 2015, Cindy is passionate about providing inspired leadership and her strengths lie in challenging teams across the firm to develop different approaches to winning and delivering new business.
Her strategic vision includes a commitment to integrating our broad capabilities to provide better solutions for our clients, supporting diversity in all its forms and leading Deloitte to make an enduring social, cultural and economic impact in Australia. She is committed to disrupting the professional services sector and embraces innovation to drive the firm’s progress in this regard.
Deloitte’s Australian practice has net revenue of over $1.1 billion, with 600 partners and more than 6,000 employees located in 14 Australian offices, together with Papua New Guinea, Hyderabad in India and Timor-Leste. Before being appointed as CEO, Cindy was the Managing Partner of Deloitte’s 1,000-strong Assurance & Advisory (A&A) practice for five years. Under her leadership, Cindy successfully developed and executed a strategy to transform the A&A practice by increasing its share of listed company audits, building an advisory practice and maintaining consistent financial performance.
Cindy is the Executive sponsor of the Deloitte Foundation, a member of the APAC leadership team and sits on the Global Executive Committee. She has been recognised externally for her role in successfully transforming A&A, with the firm named the ‘CFO Audit Firm of the Year’ and winning the ‘Australian Design Award’ for the services sector, both in 2013.
Cindy and her husband Chris have two teenage sons and live in Sydney. The family spends holidays water skiing or snow skiing, and enjoys travelling to new places. Cindy is passionate about health and fitness and loves endurance sports, cycling and anything outdoors.
Holding a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting) from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio), Cindy is a member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
