Gayle Philpotts joined Sydney Airport Corporation, an ASX50 publicly listed company, as the General Manager People and Performance in 2015. Gayle’s accountabilities encompass employee engagement, performance management, talent management and succession planning, employee relations, OD, diversity and change management. Gayle has driven a comprehensive leadership development suite of programs and achieved positive metrics on internal promotions, improved employee engagement, increased workplace diversity (both age and gender) culminating in Sydney Airport being recognised as an Employer of Choice in the Australian Business Awards 2016.
Gayle’s HR experience spans 30 years, with the last 16 years at the executive level across a range of industries including pharmaceutical, FMCG and technology, including Pfizer, Aristocrat, Lion Nathan and SunRice.
Gayle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Psychology, and an MBA from the University of Wollongong. She gained a Doctorate in Business Administration, with thesis on change management, from Southern Cross University.
Gayle is Sydney Airport Corporation’s representative on the Diversity Council of Australia. Gayle has an interest in women’s sport and has encouraged Sydney Airport to support sponsorship of the GWS Giants Women's AFL team, and the Women’s Rugby 7s Team. Committed to supporting ongoing learning and development, Gayle has lectured at UWS and UNSW and speaks at industry and HR events on leadership, change management and diversity.
