Julie Batch is the Chief Customer Officer of Insurance Australia Group and member of the Executive Team of IAG Limited, an ASX50 listed company. She has been a senior executive of IAG for over a decade and has held the positions of Chief Analytics Officer, Chief Risk Officer, Direct Insurance and Group General Manager, Reinsurance.

As Chief Customer Officer, Julie leads Customer Labs at IAG, which is responsible for improving customer experiences and driving product and pricing innovation through data and insights, brand architecture across the group, marketing strategy and new business incubation and venturing. Before joining IAG, Julie held senior roles at Gen Re Australia, part of the Berkshire Hathaway Group, as well as other reinsurance organisations. She has extensive international experience including time spent in France, Monaco, London and Japan.

Julie is passionate about creating communities that are safe from the impacts of natural disasters and leads the Working Party for the Australian Business Roundtable for Disaster Resilience and Safer Communities. In 2015, the Roundtable became the first private sector partnership to be awarded a Certificate of Distinction at the United Nations Sasakawa Awards for Disaster Reduction. She is also on the Board for the United Nations Environmental Programme's Finance Initiative for the Principles for Sustainable Insurance, responsible for the global governance and implementation of the Principles.

Julie sits on IAG’s Diversity and Inclusion Group as well as IAG’s Consumer Advisory Board and its Ethics Committee.

Julie is a graduate of Charles Sturt University and holds a Masters of Applied Finance. She is a Board member of IAG Re Singapore Pte Ltd, IAG Re Labuan (L) Berhad and Ambiata Pty Ltd and is a Fellow of ANZIIF.
