Marnie Baker was appointed Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director of Bendigo & Adelaide Bank Ltd in July 2018. The bank is an Australian owned, top 100 ASX listed company. It is Australia's fifth largest retail bank, with more than 7,200 staff and 1.6 million customers.
Marnie joined the Bendigo & Adelaide Bank Ltd in 1989 and was appointed to the executive ranks in 2000.Prior to her current role, Marnie was Chief Customer Officer. She has 30 years’ experience in financial services. Marnie is a Director of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Limited, Rural Bank Limited, NPP Australia Limited, Community Sector Enterprises Pty Limited and Community Sector Banking Pty Ltd. Marnie also sits on the Advisory Board of the Australian Centre for Financial Studies, Australian Bankers Association, Business Council of Australia, Mastercard Asia Pacific Advisory Board and is Deputy Chair of the Loddon Campaspe Regional Partnership.
Marnie holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from La Trobe University and is a member of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants, member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
A strong supporter of women within the Bank and in financial services more broadly, Marnie has also worked extensively with women to support them and to encourage their progression. She initiated and runs a Millenial workgroup to support younger entrants and is a strong supporter of the Bank's graduate program.
