Melanie Allibon has been Executive General Manager, People at Newcrest Mining, an ASX20 publicly listed company and Australia’s largest gold mining company, since January 2017. She is responsible for the People function across all of Newcrest’s operations including sites in PNG, Indonesia, Africa and Australia.
Melanie has previously served as a Human Resources executive across a wide range of industries including mining, manufacturing, media and consumer goods, and has extensive experience in leading business transformation programs. Immediately prior to joining Newcrest she served as Group Executive, Human Resources for Seven Group Holdings and Seven West Media. She has also led the Human Resources functions at Pacific Brands, Amcor Australasia and Foster’s International. Earlier in her career Melanie worked with BHP after joining their graduate program in the Pilbara.
Melanie is a member of World Vision’s Business Advisory Council and is a previous Non-Executive Director with Melbourne Water, Ardoch Youth Foundation and AllightSykes.
Melanie completed a Bachelor of Business degree at the University of South Australia and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Melanie has responsibility for the diversity and inclusion strategy at Newcrest Mining, is a frequent contributor to conversations about the importance of diverse thinking and culture to innovation in PageUp’s Talent Lab and was a speaker at the 2015 Women in Media conference. She has also coached and mentored women (and men) across a range of industries.
She has previously served as a Non-Executive Director of the Ardoch Youth Foundation, which aims to ensure all youth have access to education.
