Narelle has recently established her own research and consulting company, The Kennedy Company P/L, to provide value-added research intelligence and expertise to business and public policy decision makers.

Narelle founded and led the Australian Business Foundation, a business-backed collaborative research body bringing together leading international and Australian scholars, policymakers, opinion leaders and business executives. For 15 years Narelle successfully directed and managed the Australian Business Foundation's pioneering evidence-based research into business innovation and sustainability, emerging models of competitiveness and opportunities arising from a knowledge economy.

Narelle Kennedy is a respected thought leader on innovation and a sought-after commentator on emerging business issues and futures thinking. Narelle served on the expert panel for the Cutler Review into Australian Innovation in 2008.

Previously, Narelle was a key business advocate as an executive of the Chamber of Manufactures and Australian Business Limited and a senior public sector manager responsible for policies on business regulation, consumer affairs and competition, regional development and industry and small business.She has served in the statutory role of Superintendent of Weights and Measures.

Narelle holds a number of directorships, has represented Australia at the Business Advisory Committee to the OECD and has worked for various not for profit community service organisations on employment, international aid and social development.She was awarded a Centenary Medal in 2001. Narelle was made a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2014 for significant service to business in Australia through a range of policy development and advisory roles.
