Paddy Carney is a senior partner of PwC Australia. She is Deputy Chair of the Board of Partners, Chair of the Risk and Transformation Committee and former Chair of the Admissions Committee and Director of PwC's Indigenous Consulting Pty Ltd. She has over 25 years’ experience providing assurance and advisory services to listed companies, private groups and inbound multi-nationals, including due diligence, fundraising, investigations, corporate governance, internal control and process improvement, with a particular focus on the retail and consumer sector. Most recently Paddy was National Markets Leader – Private Clients, where she had responsibility for growing the PwC Private Clients business across 50 partners, 500 staff and nine offices in Australia.

Paddy has a Bachelor of Science (American Management Science) Degree with first class honours from the University of Wales, Swansea, which included a year at Iowa State University. She is also a qualified Chartered Accountant (UK and Australia).

Paddy is a passionate supporter of the not-for-profit sector both through providing professional services to various groups and in her personal capacity. She is a Director and Chair of the Audit Committee for the Festival of Sydney. She is a Trustee and Chair of the Audit Committee for Sydney Living Museums (Historic Houses Trust of NSW) and a Governor of the Sir David Martin Foundation.

As part of Paddy’s role on the PwC Australia Board of Partners she has specific responsibility for overseeing the development and execution of the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion strategy. At a personal level Paddy mentors women on their path to partnership and supports them after admission to be successful. She is also sought out as a mentor to other women in business and was delighted to be a national judge in the 2015 Telstra Business Women’s Awards.
