Patricia Cross currently serves as a non-executive director of the National Australia Bank, JB Were and Qantas Airways. As well, she is a non-executive director of the Grattan Institute, the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute, the Methodist Ladies College, and the Faculty of Business and Economics at Melbourne University. She also serves as an honorary advisor to businessspectator.com.au and as an ambassador to the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation.
Patricia has served for the past 14 years on the boards of a wide variety of publicly listed companies, government entities, and not-for-profit organisations. Until recently she was a non-executive director of Wesfarmers Limited (7 years), and was a member of the Panel of Experts of the Australian Financial Centre Forum. She has previously served as Chairman of the Qantas Superannuation Fund and Deputy Chairman of the Transport Accident Commission. Other ASX-50 past directorships include AMP Limited and Suncorp-Metway Ltd. Patricia was a founding member of the Financial Sector Advisory Council.
Patricia's executive career was in financial services, working in senior roles with Chase Investment Bank, BNP and the National Australia Bank in the U.S., Europe and Australia over the 15 years prior to 1996. She has hands-on experience in corporate banking, derivatives and financial markets trading, capital markets, treasury management (including as Treasurer of the NAB), investment management and general insurance.
