Penny Bingham-Hall recently embarked on a career as a non-executive director after an executive career at Leighton Holdings - Australia's largest construction, infrastructure development, contract mining and property development group.
She was appointed to the Board of BlueScope Steel and the Board of Australia Post in 2011. She is also a non-executive director of SCEGGS Darlinghurst school in Sydney. Penny recently retired as the Chairman of Advocacy Services Australia (the fiduciary company for two peak industry lobby groups – the Tourism & Transport Forum and Infrastructure Partnerships Australia) after 10 years on their Boards. She has also been a director of The Global Foundation. Penny's most recent executive role was Executive General Manager, Strategy with Leighton Holdings. She was the only female on the Group's Executive Committee reporting to the CEO and held a number of roles at Leighton including head of Corporate Affairs. With over 20 years experience in the Australian construction, mining and property industries, she also travelled widely in the Asian region including Hong Kong, Indonesia, UAE, India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. Penny has had extensive involvement in industry stakeholder relations including investors, government, community groups and the media. She is also passionate about indigenous employment and initiated a programme to increase indigenous employment across Leighton's Australian operations. Since leaving Leighton, she has continued to work on a pro bono basis with some indigenous communities including supporting Jawun indigenous corporate partnerships in its pilot program in Redfern and the Bunuwal Group in Gove. Penny has a BA degree in Industrial Design, is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Director, a Senior Associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and a life member of the Tourism & Transport Forum.
