Managing Director, Consumer Finance
Rachel Cobb is the Managing Director, Consumer Finance of GE Capital for Australia, a business serving over three million customers and managing relationships with major retailers in Australia. She leads the Consumer Finance Division, including Consumer products, across multiple channels and portfolios.
Rachel has been instrumental in a number of business decisions and initiatives to shape and implement the strategy of her business, most recently the successful sale of GE Consumer Finance for a record price.
Rachel has extensive experience of leading large, complex businesses, driving strategic change and developing teams. Her 20-year career has spanned commercial and operational leadership across financial services and aviation in the UK, Asia and Australia/New Zealand.
Starting her career with GE ten years ago as a General Manager, Rachel has demonstrated leadership in guiding a large employee base through a significant period of change as she guided her business through the GFC, significant regulatory change and substantial growth.
Rachel makes a significant contribution to industry outside her professional position as a private sector representative on Federal Treasury’s Inclusive Workplace Committee and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Directors. She is also an Executive Director of a number of GE entities.
Rachel leads the GE Australia and New Zealand Women's Network and has initiated a step-change in the progression of females into senior roles in GE, doubling the number of women in executive roles during her tenure. She also mentors and sponsors emerging female leaders.
