Rebecca Lim is Westpac’s Group Executive responsible for compliance, legal and secretariat functions globally. She was appointed Group General Counsel in November 2011 and was Chief Compliance Officer from 2013 to 2017. Westpac is an ASX50 publicly listed company.

Rebecca joined Westpac in 2001 and has held a variety of other senior leadership roles, including General Manager, Human Resources for the St.George Banking Group and General Manager, St.George Private Clients.

Rebecca began her career at Blake Dawson Waldron (now Ashurst) before joining US firm Skadden Arps, where she worked in in both New York and London. Rebecca then moved into an in-house role in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs in London.

Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of Law (Honours) from the University of Queensland. She is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Courts of New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria. She also completed the US Series 7 General Securities Representative Exam and was admitted to the New York Bar. She is Deputy Chair of the Executive Committee of the GC100and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Rebecca advocates for gender diversity with 67.5% of leadership roles in her team held by women. She is the Executive Sponsor of the Cultural Diversity Employee Action Group at Westpac.
