Sally Freeman is the National Partner in charge of Risk Consulting at KPMG Australia, a position she has held since 2012. In this role she has executive responsibility for managing 30 per cent of the firm’s advisory business, comprising fifty Partners and seven business units: Internal Audit, Forensic, Sustainability and Human Rights, Financial Risk Management, Data & Analytics, Board Advisory and Actuaries.

Sally is also a member of KPMG’s Advisory leadership team. She is an experienced leader in the professional services industry having consulted to leading organisations in Australia and ASPAC. She has been the Lead Partner for several ASX Top 50 clients, and has consulted broadly across the Victorian Government sector.

Sally also has a non-executive director portfolio, including the Australian Commonwealth Games Authority, VicHealth, Uniting Church Vic/Tas and previously Swinburne University.

Sally is an AICD Graduate, WCLP2007, a Chartered Accountant and has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Western Australia.

Sally has championed the growth of female talent in senior leadership positions in the Risk Consulting division, taking participation from 12% to over 30% women – exceeding KPMG’s 2020 targets. She is a founding member of the Global Women’s network forum for KPMG Risk Consulting and actively mentors emerging female talent both within KPMG and broader business circles.
