Sally Macdonald was CEO and MD of OrotonGroup for 7 years from 2006 to 2013, leading a turnaround of the listed ASX300 retail group from losses to record profits, through the sale of 3 businesses, launch and growth of Oroton online to more than 10% of sales and expansion of Oroton stores into Malaysia, Singapore, China and UAE. In 2013, under Sally's leadership, the company signed a JV agreement with Brooks Brothers to launch that brand in Australia and New Zealand.
Sally's previous experience includes general management, buying and store operations at Banana Republic (a division of The Gap Inc) in San Francisco; and seven years experience as a management consultant with The Boston Consulting Group, based in the Melbourne and New York offices. As a consultant Sally's work focused predominately on global consumer branded clients in the cosmetics, personal care, media, travel and music industries.
Sally currently serves on several private company retail boards and is the founder of Antipodean Group, a private retail investment company.
Sally holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School (1996), and a B.Comm (1990) from Melbourne University.
