Tanya Hosch is General Manager, Inclusion and Social Policy with the Australian Football League. A Torres Strait Islander woman, Tanya has dedicated herself to working for a fairer future for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and for all Australians. Tanya is a former Joint Campaign Director and the spokesperson for the RECOGNISE movement, which raises community awareness and support to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Australian Constitution. Tanya initiated a three year-long community engagement exercise that has seen campaigners travel more than 35,500kms to 260 communities.
Tanya is the Independent Chair of PwC Indigenous Consulting, and a Director of the Australian Centre for Social Innovation, the Indigenous Lands Council and the Australian Indigenous Governance Institute. She is also on the Board of Bangarra Dance Theatre. She was formerly a Board member of Australian Red Cross, Rio Tinto Aboriginal Fund and the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Equality Council.
In 2013, Tanya was named in the South Australian Women’s Honour Roll and in 2012, 2013 and 2015 she was recognised in the Westpac and the Australian Financial Review ‘100 Women of Influence’ Awards. In 2014 she was a nominee in Daily Life’s Women of the Year Human Rights category. In 2013 Tanya, along with Jason Glanville, addressed the National Press Club on the topic of constitutional recognition.
