Chief Executive Women congratulates the 13 CEW members and scholars recognised in this week’s 2023 Honours.

This year’s recipients are a great example of the reach, impact, and scale of the contribution CEW’s network of women leaders makes to the Australian community. The were recognised for their work in health, business, the arts, medical research, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander rights, and of course, women.

The accomplished women leaders and CEW members recognised in the 2023 Honours are:

    For significant service to public health administration and governance
  • Clare O’Connor PSM
    Public Service Medal (PSM)
    For outstanding public service to the development and support of Queensland communities
  • Jane Hemstritch AO
    Officer of the Order of Australia (AO)
    For distinguished service to the community through medical research administration, the arts, and business roles
  • Lisa O’Brien AM
    Member of the Order of Australia (AM)
    For significant service to the community, particularly through social welfare organisations
  • Kristin Stubbins AM
    Member of the Order of Australia (AM)
    For significant service to the financial sector, to women, and to the community
  • Kirstin Ferguson AM
    Member of the Order of Australia (AM)
    For significant service to business, and to gender equality
  • Margaret Crawford PSM
    Public Service Medal (PSM)
    For outstanding public service in ensuring the integrity of the NSW Public sector through her role as Auditor General of NSW
  • Nicola Wakefield Evans AM
    Member of the Order of Australia (AM)
    For significant service to business, to the law, and to diversity
  • Rebecca Brown PSM
    Public Service Medal (PSM)
    For outstanding public service through leadership and management in response to the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Sally Herman OAM
    Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM)
    For service to the financial sector, and to the community
  • Susan Pearce AM
    Member of the Order of Australia (AM)
    For significant service to public health administration and governance

    For significant service to the Indigenous community, and to sports administration

    For significant service to the organic beef industry, and to professional organisations

We are pleased to see almost half of all recipients were women, recognised for their leadership, impact and contribution to their communities around the country. Congratulations to the CEW members, scholars and the wider community.
