New members include senior executive women representing the Not for Profit (15), Government (30), Financial Services (26), Education (11), Mining & Resources (14) and 26 other sectors across the economy and community.
Her Excellency the Honourable Barbara Baker AC has become the first member from Tasmania and together with Chief Medical Officer and incoming Governor of Queensland Jeanette Young PSM, join Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC, Governor of NSW, and incoming Governor of South Australia, Frances Adamson AC, as members.
Among the new members, CEW has welcomed women leaders from the Australian Human Rights Commission and Equality Australia as well as executives from the Women’s Safety and Justice Taskforce and domestic violence organisations such as Our Watch (Vic) and Intouch Multicultural Centre Against Family Violence (Vic) along with CEOs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations – Karen Mundine CEO of Reconciliation Australia, Fiona Jose CEO of Cape York Partnership, Laura Berry CEO of Supply Nation and Sonya Stewart, the first woman and first Indigenous person to be appointed CEO of the NSW Law Society.
The not for profit sector continues to be well represented in CEW’s membership with Lisa Annese, CEO, Diversity Council of Australia and Violet Roumeliotis AM, CEO, Settlement Services Australia and four CEOs from women’s health, mental health and children’s charities – Sarah Hosking from the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Holly Masters from the McGrath Foundation, Georgie Harman from Beyond Blue and Louise Baxter from Starlight Children’s Foundation – joining.
Australia’s Chief Scientist Catherine Foley AO PSM and E-Safety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant also boosted CEW’s membership ranks across science, and government.
NSW is home to 89 women joining CEW’s ranks in 2021 – providing the largest number of members by state, followed by Victoria (54), Queensland (21) Western Australia (17) South Australia (5), ACT (5), Tas (1) and two more international members, Melanie Brock, Ambassador Japan, Advance.org and Leilani Frew, Deputy Secretary, Finance and Commercial, New Zealand Treasury: Te Tai Ohanga.

Members’ organisations have a combined market capitalisation greater than $1.144 trillion and contribute in excess of $249 billion to Australia’s GDP.
