As Australia’s leading provider of integrated financial services, the Commonwealth Bank is committed to attracting, developing and retaining a diverse workforce by providing everyone with the opportunity to be themselves in an inclusive workplace.
o Diversity and inclusion is integral to our culture, our values and the way we do business.
o Understanding and responding to the needs of our customers is best accomplished when our people and leaders reflect the diversity of our customers, and their diverse views are encouraged and valued.
o Our approach is aligned with our business strategy so that diversity and inclusion is a key enabler of outcomes for our people, customers and communities.
Diversity in Leadership
o Since 2010, Commonwealth Bank has focused on ensuring that its diversity is consistent across the organisation, and this required a strategic approach to appropriate gender and cultural representations across leadership roles. This has resulted in the Board and Executive Leadership Team endorsing targets for gender and cultural diversity in leadership.
o 40 per cent of women in Executive Manager and above roles, and 45 per cent of women in Manager and above roles, by 2020.
o Senior leaders to be as diverse as the Australian population
Bridging the gender pay gap
o Gender pay equity is an important focus area for the Commonwealth Bank. We conduct pay equity analyses throughout the year and as part of the annual remuneration review process. We report on gender pay equity to the WGEA and the Dow Jones Sustainability Index.
o Commonwealth Bank is a diverse and complex organisation that puts customers at the centre of everything it does. We also recognise that our employees have many responsibilities, and it is our ambition to build their engagement by supporting them meeting these obligations. Flexibility is at the core of how our people work and our iCAN Flex program offers an outcomes-based, ‘reason-neutral’ approach to flexible working that meets the needs of our people, our customers and our business.
o Our partnerships with organisations like CEW, reflect our ongoing commitment to supporting women in leadership.
