Schmidmaier/Mayne Not-for-profit Scholarship Recipients

Chief Executive Women (CEW) is delighted to announce the recipients of our inaugural Schmidmaier Mayne Scholarship for women leaders in the not-for-profit sector. The new scholarship was established this year in recognition of the commitment and contributions of Dagmar Schmidmaier AM and Lynette Mayne AM, Directors of the CEW Leaders Program inspiring hundreds of women to develop their leadership capacity.

Four scholarships have been awarded to attend the CEW Leaders Program with a full seven-day program of workshops and small groups discussions with in-demand CEW members sharing leadership skills and insights. These experienced facilitators from a range of organisations and sectors help give participants a competitive edge and a chance to build networks with exposure to CEOs and senior executives.

Congratulations to the 2021 Schmidmaier Mayne Scholarship Winners:

Gaelle Gouillou – Chief Executive Officer of The Spiers Centre. Gaelle won the Community Leadership Award 2019, Perth Business Women’s Alliance for Emerging Women in Leadership and has contributed to a number of committees and Boards in multicultural youth, aged care and community legal services.https://cew.org.au/scholarships/schmidmaier-mayne-scholarship-for-women-in-the-not-for-profit-sector/

Louise Gray – Chief Operating Officer and Company Secretary at CARE Australia. Louise’s achievements in government, not-for-profit and international aid organisations were recognised as a finalist in the 2000 Telstra Young Business Woman of the Year Awards.

Penny Palmer – Legal Governance Risk and Compliance Director at The Fred Hollows Foundation. Penny is also a member of the Banking and Finance Oath’s Advocacy and Awareness Committee, assisted Amnesty International Australia on its Rethinking Governance project.

Kate Percy – Director of Knowledge and Outcomes, and Principal Privacy Officer, at Berry Street Victoria. Kate has worked in various national and senior leadership roles within the community sector on strategy, service design, transformation, policy development and reform.

The Schmidmaier Mayne Scholarship represents an expansion of CEW’s Scholarship Program to support applicants from more diverse sectors. The successful candidates will also become members of the CEW alumni community, CEW Connect, and have access to exclusive events with CEW members as well as joining a supportive network of successful women leaders.
