Alice DeBoos
I graduated with degrees in Arts/Law in 1998 and my interest in employee relations led me to a graduate role with the significant labour lawyer, Bill McNally. Shortly after, I went to the Transport Workers Union as an Official, handling industrial disputes and gaining significant experience as an advocate before industrial relations tribunals.
In 2002, I started as the Employee Relations Counsel for the Lend Lease group, managing and advising on all employment and workplace relations matters across the group companies. In 2008, I accepted a role as a Partner in Ebsworth & Ebsworth (which later merged to be HWLEbsworth). In 2010, with my team, I moved to Middletons as a Partner and Practice Group Leader for the national workplace relations team. Middletons merged with the global firm K&L Gates and as a consequence in 2013, I became Global Practice Area Leader for the Labour Employment and Workplace Safety team, managing some 250 lawyers across the world. I also became a member of the global Board of K&L Gates, a firm with over 2000 partners and a revenue of more than $USD1.1billion.
In November 2019, I was a founding member and Managing Partner of Kingston Reid which is now the largest specialist workplace relations law firm, with over 75 staff in four offices around the country. I am also on the Board of the two related businesses, Azuhr and Ombpoint.
I am married, live in Sydney and have three fabulous kids who are 20,17 and 12.
