Alison Creagh

Alison Creagh is a Member of the Australian War Memorial Council, a Non-Executive Director of The Hospital Research Foundation and The Repat Foundation and a Committee Member of the Australian Peacekeeping Memorial Project. Alison was the Executive Director Spirit of Anzac Centenary Experience from 2015 to 2016. This unique joint venture between the Australian Government, the Commonwealth Bank and Telstra is the national flagship community event of Australia's Centenary of Anzac program and tells the story of Australia's involvement in the First World War and the ensuing century of service of Australia's Armed Forces. Alison was educated at Canberra Girls Grammar School, and attended the Australian National University prior to joining the Australian Regular Army graduating to the Royal Australian Corps of Signals in 1985. During her 30 year career in the Army Alison held numerous appointments from Lieutenant to Brigadier in a range of roles including operations, capability development, acquisition, personnel management, public affairs and strategic communication. She commanded the Defence Force School of Signals, responsible for delivering Information and Communication Technology training to the Australian Defence Force, and the independent 145th Signal Squadron. As Director-General Australian Defence Force Theatre Project she worked with the Sydney Theatre Company to present the play The Long Way Home which provided a recovery opportunity for wounded and injured soldiers from the Australian Defence Force.
