Alison Crook AO
Managing Director of Waterview Consulting Pty Ltd, Alison is an experienced Non-Executive Director and a consultant specialising in organisational change. Deputy Chair of Suters Architects Pty Ltd, and of Australian Volunteers International, she is a Director of Wetland Care Australia and trustee of the Gordon Darling Foundation.
Previous senior positions held include Deputy Vice Chancellor Resources, Monash University, Executive Director Operations, Serco Asia Pacific, Director General State and Regional Development NSW, and State Librarian NSW.
Alison began her career as a tutor in Philosophy at Flinders University. Other early formative experiences included being an Australian Volunteer International, lecturing in Art in Papua New Guinea, and being Community Liaison Officer at Gunpowder Copper Ltd in North West Queensland.
Her diverse career has included being New South Wales State Librarian and Director-General of N.S.W. State and Regional Development. While State Librarian she was named Qantas/Bulletin Australian Business Woman of the Year, and Business Review Weekly/Alcatel Business Leader of the Year for the Professions. She was also appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO), for services to public administration. A change of direction in 1997 saw her moving to the private sector, and initially London, to become Executive Director Operations for SERCo Asia Pacific and Managing Director SERCo Transport Services.
