Amanda Watt

Throughout my career I have enabled others to build safe, respectful and productive workplaces. Drawing on my deep expertise in cultural and organisational transformation, I actively engage in public discussion on making necessary changes to advance women in workplaces.
As a leading thinker on the prevention of sexual harassment, my work has contributed to systemic reform, including: as part of the Champions of Change Coalition's seminal report: Disrupting the System – preventing and responding to sexual harassment in the workplace; in the Respect@Work Council's guiding principles on the use of confidentiality agreements (NDAs); and in the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based violence, recently introduced to the Australian Parliament. My commentary has been published in the Good Weekend, SMH, AFR, AICD Company Magazine, CCH and ANZ Bluenotes.
I am a director of Ambulance Victoria and chair the Audit and Risk Committee. I was a board member of MinterEllison (for 3 terms, 2015 to 2021) during the pandemic and transition of CEO leadership. I currently chair the Firm's national Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee, reporting to the board.
As a senior MinterEllison partner, specialising in Respect@Work, IR and employment law, I am recognised as an outstanding strategic thinker and leading lawyer by multiple global independent client and peer surveys.
My style is calm, values-based, empathetic and respectfully direct. Commercially astute and a maximiser in outlook, I always ask how we can be better. I value collaboration and the respectful exchange of ideas to sustain strong and safe organisations.
