Angela Nolan

Angela Nolan was appointed Group Chief Executive Officer of Mercy Health in October 2022, following 5 years as Chief Executive Officer of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. Angela’s unique career path brings to healthcare a wealth of multi-disciplinary qualifications and experience across human resources, accounting and finance, operations management, and process re-engineering. After beginning her career as a financial auditor and operational consultant at Arthur Andersen, Angela worked for 12 years at ANZ Bank. As Global Head of HR Advisory and Consulting at ANZ, she led significant change programs that involved establishing new businesses, organisational redesign and restructuring, out and in-sourcing, offshoring, acquisitions and divestments, and cost reduction. Angela worked with St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne for more than a decade in roles that also include Executive Director of Acute Services and Executive Director of People and Corporate Support. With a turnover of $800 million and approximately 7,000 employees, the Hospital is part of Australia’s largest not for profit, catholic health care provider. Angela has held board positions with the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre, the St Vincent’s Institute of Medical Research and the Aikenhead Centre for Medical Discovery. She also served for a decade on the Boards of Inclusion Melbourne and its associated Foundation, as both President and Treasurer. When not at work, Angela is kept busy with her two teenage boys, both of whom love their sport. Her other interests include international travel and live performing arts.
