Anissa Levy
Ms Anissa Levy is an accomplished senior executive with over 30 years’ public and private sector experience including at Deputy Secretary/CEO level and as Board chairperson. Ms Anissa Levy was appointed as the Queensland Building and Construction Commission’s first female CEO and Commissioner in February 2022. A civil engineer by profession, Ms Levy has a passion for leading and creating better and more sustainable services and infrastructure for the community. Ms Levy has a distinguished track record with experience in the infrastructure, building, transport, sustainability, environment, waste, energy and water sectors. Ms Levy is passionate about delivering outcomes to communities that enhance social, economic, environmental and cultural values; and engaging appropriately and respectfully with our First Nations communities and peoples. That passion also extends to improving opportunities for women in the workforce by mentoring and supporting them on their leadership journey. Ms Levy’s former roles have included the inaugural CEO of Water Infrastructure NSW, where Ms Levy was responsible for establishing the organisation and building the capacity and capability of the water sector to deliver large and complex infrastructure programs. Ms Levy also led the Department of Planning Industry and Environment’s Environment, Energy and Science Group as Coordinator General, delivering significant policies, initiatives and strategies on climate change, renewable energy and energy security, environmental sustainability, waste management, biodiversity and conservation. At Infrastructure NSW as Deputy CEO and Head of Investor Assurance, Ms Levy oversaw the development, implementation and operation of the Infrastructure Investor Assurance Framework. As the Acting Chair and CEO of the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA), Ms Levy initiated a transformation of the EPA into a customer-focused organisation. Ms Levy has significant experience at Board level, including as Acting Chair of the NSW EPA, Chair of the Lord Howe Island Board and member of the NSW Prison Bed Capacity Program.
