Caroline Wilkie

Caroline Wilkie commenced as the Chief Executive Officer of the Australasian Railway Association (ARA) in February 2020. Caroline leads a team of 24 across Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne that is committed to supporting national rail policy and to building the capability of the rail sector in key areas including workforce development, harmonisation, diversity and sustainability. Caroline is a Board member of the ARA and a Board member of the Tracksafe Foundation. The mission of the Tracksafe Foundation is to prevent suicides and injuries on the rail network, as well as improving the wellbeing of rail employees. Caroline sits on the NSW Government Rail Freight Advisory Committee, the Victorian Government Rail Industry Development Committee, and the Monash Institute of Rail Technology Advisory Board. Caroline also sits on the CEO Advisory Group for the National Women in Transport initiative. Prior to taking on the role at the ARA, Caroline served as the CEO of the Australian Airports Association (AAA) for over nine years. Caroline brings extensive policy and advocacy experience to the ARA, with a track record of working with Government and industry to deliver nation-building infrastructure investment and critical transport networks connecting urban and regional communities. With a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Sydney and a background in communications, policy and advocacy, Caroline has worked in the not for profit sector for over twenty years.
