Barriers________________________________________________________________Claire is Chief Executive of Life Without Barriers, one of Australia’s largest not-for-profit organisations with services in every state and territory.Life Without Barriers supports over 25,000 people annually with disability support, aged care, mental health, as well as support for people seeking asylum. Life Without Barriers is the only organisation providing care nationally for children, young people and families in child protection.Claire leads more than 8,000 staff and 3,000 foster and kinship carers with a commitment to values led leadership, where relationships, respect, responsiveness, imagination and courage are the compass for her decision making. Claire is a skilled strategist, with over 25 years’ experience in the human services sector with a career that began in frontline services. This direct hands-on experience honed Claire's ability to make critical decisions with a sharp relevance for practical, human centred implementation.With a strong reputation in the social services sector and with government at state and federal levels, Claire is revered for her ability to collaborate and is a reliable voice and trusted expert. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Claire was sought out by Government committees to provide advice about the impact of COVID on vulnerable people. Since becoming Chief Executive in 2011, Claire has grown the revenue of Life Without Barriers by over $750m and expanded its services nationally.Claire holds a Bachelors Degree in Arts, Sociology and Social policy, a Graduate Diploma in Psychology, an Executive Master of Business Administration and is a Board member with the Community Council of Australia.
