Claire Spencer is the CEO of the Arts Centre Melbourne, the largest performing arts centre group in Australia, engaging an audience of over 3 million people each year. Claire is responsible for ensuring programmers and artists have the right frameworks in place to think broadly and creatively, within the context of making fiscally responsible decisions. Claire's unique skill-set combines creative vision with skills and experience in business transformation, strategic planning, financial and stakeholder management, people and culture, and corporate governance. Claire brings clear direction to her role. She ensures the Centre's artistic direction has a solid economic platform with clear growth strategy. This includes harnessing technology to reach a broader audience and maintaining relevance by broadcasting performances and establishing digital hubs. Before taking her current role, Claire held senior positions at the Sydney Opera House. In her role of Chief Operating Officer, Claire was responsible for Precinct Businesses, Finance, Information Systems, People and Culture, Legal and Strategy and Risk Management.
