Darlene Mattiske-Wood

Darlene Mattiske-Wood is an experienced CEO and Senior Executive. In March 2020, Darlene was appointed as the CEO of Australian Military Bank. Her experience includes more than 20 years in the Mutual Banking sector with significant strength and expertise in all aspects of strategic and operational leadership as well as strategic planning, digital/technology transformation, marketing, and organisational development, in addition to experience in mergers and acquisitions. Prior to her appointment with Australian Military Bank, Darlene held positions with Australian Central Credit Union and subsequently People’s Choice Credit Union, one of the largest Mutuals in Australia as both deputy CEO and acting CEO. Darlene originally commenced her career journey in nursing and subsequently held positions within both private and semi government statutory organisations before moving into the banking sector. Included in her previous positions was that of Parliamentary Secretary and Executive responsible for Ministerial liaison to Premier and Cabinet for the SA Workers’ Compensation scheme. This role encompassed research of the structure of social security and workers’ compensation schemes internationally and included Chair of Safe Communities South Australia. Darlene’s qualifications include: • The Harvard University Advanced Leadership Program • Advanced Diploma in Management • Graduate Diploma of Management, HR • Bachelor of Management Darlene has received the following external recognition: • 2016 Telstra Business Women’s Award Winner, Corporate and Private SA. • One of three Finalist in the 2017 National Retail Banking Awards for Executive of the Year; (All Mutual and listed Banks in Australia). • Two AHRI Awards (Australian Human Resource Institute) People Leadership and People Strategy.
