Eva Hanly

Eva has 22 years as an operational leader in capital intensive industries across a wide range of sectors including engineering construction, mining, energy and transport. After commencing as an undergraduate engineer on multi-billion dollar mining and construction sites with Thiess (now CIMIC), she has progressed through leadership roles to Group Executive.Her leadership experience includes profit and loss responsibility of multi-billion dollar businesses, capital project delivery management, operations, innovation, strategy, business transformation, commercial and business development / growth. Eva has worked for some of Australia’s leading infrastructure companies including Thiess (now CIMIC), Worley Parsons, Origin Energy, Transurban and Transgrid. Currently Eva is a Group Executive at Transgrid, Australia’s largest energy network business, responsible for leading Transgrid’s business model change for the energy transition. She is responsible for functions including corporate strategy, commercial development, policy reform and economics, innovation and technology, future energy and driving the incubation and execution of new products and service lines. Prior to TransGrid, Eva was General Manager NSW at Transurban. She led the $20b WestConnex acquisition and prior to that had P&L and operational responsibility of Transurban’s NSW business (40% of group revenue). Prior to joining Transurban, Eva was General Manager Commercial at Origin Energy responsible for all commercial activities including representing Origin’s investment in the $25b APLNG, LNG sales, and establishing and operating a new gas trading business on behalf of the APLG consortium.
