Fay Cranmer

Fay is an experienced global executive leader that thrives in challenging and transformative environments wishing to unlock organisational potential through adoption of value-driven operating models, process efficiencies and digital technologies. Fay has 31 years of experience working in the Resources and Business Consulting sectors. Fay has deep experience in business and operational technology, digital transformation and cyber security in global enterprises. She has positively impacted profitable growth and cost reduction as both a corporate executive and as an advisor to the C-suite.

Fay has rejoined Accenture as a Senior Managing Director following her role as Chief Information Officer at Rio Tinto where she transformed the Information Systems and Technology function into a key enabler of Rio Tinto’s business strategy. Her responsibilities included Digital, Information & Cyber Security, Operational Technology, IoT, Data and Information Management, Information systems and Enterprise Architecture. Fay is known for implementing disciplined digital thought leadership across the global footprints of complex, asset-intensive operations.

This followed her success leading the Digital, Information Technology and Business Process landscape at Suncor Energy Inc., the largest Canadian oil & gas producer (NYSE- and TSX-listed). In similar roles at Sasol Limited, a JSE and NYSE listed energy and petrochemicals company, Fay transformed the Upstream oil & gas subsidiary before rationalizing and restructuring the core functions and systems

across the entire Group.

Fay’s extensive consulting experience with global professional services firms began with Arthur Andersen in London and has taken her across the world, consulting primarily to the Energy, Resources and Utilities sectors. Fay has built and led industry and strategic transformation practices in various countries. Fay is a hands-on practitioner who enjoys strong relationships with her client base and her team. She has previously been the National Energy & Resources Consulting Leader at Deloitte Canada, a senior executive at Accenture in Canada and South Africa, where she led the Energy and Chemicals group and the National Energy & Utilities Consulting lead at Arthur Andersen, South Africa.

Fay has experience working and living in many countries across the globe with their many diverse cultures and languages. Her work has necessitated liaison with and representation on company boards, executive management teams and joint venture consortia.

Fay is married and has two teenage children. Her interests include exploring, cooking, gardening, the theatre, music and keeping fit. She is an avid swimming supporter, technical official and swim parent.
