Fiona David

Fiona is a globally renowned executive, board member and thought leader in the field of systemic change and social policy reform.

 

Currently CEO of Fair Futures, a consulting firm with a mission to achieve lasting social change, she is working with the International Organization for Migration (UN) to create safer migration pathways from Lebanon, and acting as Alternate for Nicola Forrest in her role as Governor for the Forrest Research Foundation.

 

Formerly Research Chair for the Minderoo Foundation, her legacy was transforming research quality and impact in the context of unprecedented scale and exponential increase of investment into the foundation’s research. This included developing and advising on major projects and global partnerships fuelling effective philanthropic work across a number of impact areas, including climate change, frontier technology and indigenous employment.

 

Fiona played a pivotal role in creating the inaugural strategy, priorities and organisational design for the Walk Free Foundation, to build capacity and capability to trigger concerted international and national action on modern slavery. Her successes include influencing the passage of the Modern Slavery Act in Australia, creating the Global Slavery Index, and drafting the UN’s Model Laws on Migrant Smuggling and on Transnational Organised Crime.


Fiona is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, holds a Bachelor of Laws, a Master of Applied Anthropology and Participatory Development and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. Fiona was awarded a Chief Executive Women scholarship to complete ‘Driving Strategic Innovation’ at MIT. She is an active member of Chief Executive Women and holds a number of board and advisory roles including Trustee/Director of The Coolaroo Foundation.
