Fiona Jolly

I am an experienced Chief Executive Officer in the marketing and media sector. Currently I hold the Australian Government Cabinet Appointed position as Director of the Classification Board, where I am responsible for classification of film, computer games and publications for the Australian community. For 14 ½ years until 2020 I was Chief Executive Officer of Ad Standards Australia, the advertising industry body established to self-regulate advertising across all media in Australia. I worked with Australia’s largest advertisers, media agencies and creative agencies to improve advertising standards in Australia across all media and was influential in the development of progressive policies on depictions of women in advertising, alcohol and gambling advertising, advertising of food to children, cultural diversity and discrimination in advertising. During this time, I received four international awards from my global peers for innovation and thought leadership. I am an experienced Non-Executive Director and legal professional with broad experience across Government, private sector and not-for-profit organisations. I have a significant record of leadership in the NFP sector. As President of the YWCA of Australia in my early 30s I led meaningful change in the governance and sustainability of the national organisation and its members, and to its role as a recognised peak body for women and families. I have more than 20 years in NED roles with YWCA Canberra, Australian Business Volunteers (including three as President), Ainslie Football Club and Daramalan College. I am an energetic, intelligent, and enthusiastic leader recognised for my integrity and collaborative approach.
