Fiona Lavan

Fiona Lavan has been in executive search since 1988 and became an equity partner of Stanton Chase in 1998. She was appointed to the International Board as Vice Chair Regions and Regional Vice President Asia Pacific in 2011, roles she held until the end of 2014. She returned to the International Board in January 2019 and is Head of the Global Agribusiness and Higher Education practices. She has handled searches for clients in agribusiness; financial services; industrial; government, education & non-profit; healthcare; and logistics & transportation, particularly port & rail management, across Australia, the Pacific and into Asia. She has also developed a strong practice in the appointment of boards to statutory authorities and other public and private sector organisations. She is a member of the Executive Search working group of the 30% Club in Australia.

Fiona’s professional background is in investment banking, having spent several years in both corporate banking and international treasury with Australian, Japanese and British banks. She is a graduate of Monash University in Human Resource Management & Industrial Relations and has completed studies in finance through the Securities Institute of Australia.

Fiona is actively involved in community activities and has been a Director of the Rotary Club of Sydney Cove and a member of the Australian Red Cross Fundraising Committee. She can be regularly found driving the Vinnies Night Patrol food truck or serving breakfast to Sydney’s homeless and marginalized at the Early Bird Café in Macquarie Street.
