Fiona Trigona is the Executive General Manager and Group Treasurer at NBN Co, a position she has held since March 2021 In this role, she is responsible for driving the strategic direction of funding, liquidity, and interest rate risk management activities, growing NBN Co’s investor base, and running a broad range of funding programs Before joining NBN Co, Fiona was the Head of Funding and Balance Sheet for NSW Treasury Corporation (TCorp), where she managed the interest rate risk and funding of the $120 billion Balance Sheet One of her career highlights includes the issuance of NBN’s inaugural Green Bond issue, an A$800 million transaction that represented the largest AUD green bond offering by an Australian corporate on record. This was followed by NBN’s inaugural EUR1.35 billion ($A2.1 billion) Green bond in the European market, the largest Green Bond issued in any currency by an Australian corporate issuer to dat Under Fiona's leadership, NBN has become the largest corporate issuer in the Australian market, issuing more than $20 billion in multiple markets including Australia, the US, Europe, Japan, and non-Japan Asia This fundraising allowed NBN to repay the $19.5 billion Commonwealth Loan by June 2024 Fiona holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Sydney, majoring in Pure Mathematics and Chemistry, and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia (FINSIA) She is also accredited with the Australian Financial Markets Association (AFMA) and has been an active member of various AFMA committees Fiona is passionate about championing diversity and development and is a regular panelist and speaker at industry events.
