Georgina Varley

Georgina is a Managing Director at Adamantem Capital, an Australia and New Zealand focused private equity firm with $2bn in funds under management. Georgina is a member of the Adamantem leadership team and co-leads Adamantem’s buyout investment strategy which focusses on investing in businesses in the consumer, healthcare and business services sectors across Australia and New Zealand. In this role, Georgina is responsible for sourcing, executing and managing investments across multiple industries. She also plays a key role in Adamantem’s investor relations function. She currently sits on the board of Adamantem portfolio companies, Retail Zoo, Climate Friendly and Mason Stevens. She is the Chair of Climate Friendly and was formerly on the board of Heritage Lifecare (NZ). Georgina was appointed to the Australian Takeovers Panel in 2024. Georgina is passionate about gender diversity in the private capital industry and has devoted significant time to this cause, both informally via having fostered a network of women in private equity, and formally via her former role as Chair of the Australian Investment Council Diversity Committee (2018-2023). Georgina also mentors women in the industry and speaks regularly at industry and diversity focussed events. Prior to joining Adamantem Capital, Georgina worked in private equity as an Investment Director at Archer Capital (2017-2018) and an Investment Director at Arowana International (2013-2016). She also worked at Macquarie Group (Sydney and London) from 2006-2013 in investment banking and principal investment. Georgina holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Sydney.
