Following early retirement accepted non-executive directorships with listed companies for period of seven years. Joined McCarthy Mentoring panel in 2006. Admitted to the full time Fine Arts Degree Course at National Arts School in 2009 majoring in sculpture. Wide experience on health, cultural and community boards. Served on the National Library Council as a director and deputy chairman for nine years, director for a decade on the Sydney Dance Company board, director of the The Garvan Medical Research institute and Chairman of the Garvan Foundation, Chairman of the Australian Pavilion Expo 88, .Founding director and deputy chair of the Museum of Contemporary Art. Appointed by both Federal and State governments to review panels relating to Australian tourism and the University of Sydney .Business School. . Awarded AO for services to media, medical research and the arts in 1999 and the Centenary Medal for services to business in 2001.
