Gitanjali Bhalla

Gitanjali Bhalla BA, LLB (Hons); Master of International Business
With 25+ years of experience, I have held Board, senior executive, and leadership roles across business and corporate services, specialising in human capital management, business transformation, capital allocation, integration, M&A, tax, and legal. I have successfully led high-impact strategic initiatives in complex, high-growth environments, delivering enhanced workforce capability, financial performance, and shareholder value across global and Australian organisations.
As Chief People Officer at Seven Group Holdings (SGH), I lead human resources, culture, and safety, driving talent strategy, workforce planning, leadership development, and operational excellence across SGH’s diversified portfolio. I also serve as a Board Director for Boral, Coates, WesTrac, and SGH Energy, where I contribute to human capital strategy, business performance, corporate governance, and capital allocation, ensuring strategic alignment with enterprise-wide objectives. My role has also extended to corporate transactions, due diligence, integration, and governance, supporting SGH’s investment and M&A strategy.
Previously, I held C-suite and global leadership roles at UGL, DTZ, and Cushman & Wakefield, including Chief Administration Officer and People & Culture leadership positions. In these roles, I led enterprise-wide HR, M&A integration, and operational transformation, creating value through organisational design, workforce optimisation, and commercial structuring. Earlier in my career, with a tax and legal background, I developed deep expertise in tax, performance & reward, mobility, and workforce strategy at EY and Arthur Andersen.
Beyond corporate leadership, I am passionate about governance and social impact. I serve as a Board Director for Carriageworks and the Australian Cancer Research Foundation and have been a passionate Ambassador for Good Return, supporting women’s economic empowerment through microfinance.
