Helena Teede

I am a values-driven clinical, academic leader and advocate for gender equality, diversity and advancing women in leadership. A highly regarded leader, influential women’s health, gender equality, leadership expert and advocate with 30+ years’ in clinical academic roles, influencing evidence-based policy and practice. I established and lead Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation (MCHRI) and am the Professor of Women’s Health Monash University. I hold executive/non-executive roles across healthcare, academia and research, NGOs and policy committees; e.g. member of Aust Academy of Health and Medical Sciences Council; Chair of a WHO task force; President of International Society of Endocrinology, Chair of the Women’s Health Research and Translation Network and Lead on the Advancing Women in Healthcare Leadership Initiative (AWHL). I founded the Partnership Centre in Gender Equality and Leadership Advancement bringing 28+ leading national/international organisations as investing partners committed to advancing women in leadership and established the Monash Gender Equity Alliance. I am ranked in the top 0.2% of academics in all fields of research globally and focus on translation into government policy, especially in equality with the Commission for Gender Equality, Pathway to Diversity in STEM and Inquiry into issues related to menopause and the workplace. Recognition includes Member of the Order of Australia for services to women’s health, Fellowships of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Science (on Council), and the Australian and NZ and the UK Colleges of Obstetrics and Gynaecology., the AMA Women in Leadership award and the International Endocrine Society International Laureate award.
