Jane Halton

Jane Halton AO PSM is Chair of Australian Council on the Ageing and Board Vault Systems and Non-Executive Director of ANZ Banking Group. She also serves on the boards Clayton Utz, Ngamuru Advisory (a Clayton Utz company), Australian Strategic Policy Institute and the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington. She has been appointed Non-Executive Director of Crown Resorts and Chair of the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness (CEPI), effective from 2018.
Jane is a former Secretary of the Australian Department of Finance, responsible for supporting the delivery of the Australian Government budget, the ongoing management of the Australian Government's non-defence domestic property portfolio, key assets and asset sales plus the financial and performance framework for Australian Government agencies.
In a 33 career within the public service, including nearly 15 years as Secretary, Jane's previous roles include Secretary of the Australian Department of Health, Secretary for the Department of Health and Ageing, and Executive Co-ordinator (Deputy Secretary) of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
Jane's former directorships include Chairman of the OECD Asian Senior Budget Officials Network, Co-Chair of the OECD Group on Health OECD's Health Committee, Chair of the Australian Food Regulation Standing Committee and Chair of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Council. She was President of the World Health Assembly in 2007 and an Executive Board Member of World Health Organisation between 2004 and 2007, and again between 2012 and 2015.
She has significant international experience, and extensive experience in finance, insurance, risk management, information technology, human resources, health and ageing, sport and public policy.
