Jane Hemstritch
Jane Hemstritch is the President of The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research. She is also the Chair of the Accenture Australia Foundation, a Board member of The Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and a member of the Council of Queens College, Melbourne University.
Jane has served as a member of the Board of Directors of CBA, Lend Lease, Tabcorp, Santos, Telstra and as Chair of The Victorian Opera Company.She was a member, and Deputy Chair, of the Council of the National Library of Australia and Deputy Chair of the Global Foundation. Previously, Jane was a member of the Board of Directors of the Australian Information Industry Association, a member of the Business Council of Australia and a Trustee for the Committee of Economic Development of Australia. Prior to her career as a Non-Executive Director, Jane was Asia Pacific Managing Director for Accenture. In this role, she was a member of Accenture's global Executive Leadership Team and oversaw the management of Accenture's businesses in the Asia Pacific region. Mrs Hemstritch joined Accenture in 1982 and become a partner in 1988. Mrs Hemstritch holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry and Physiology from the University of London. Mrs Hemstritch is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a Fellow of The Australian Institute of Company Directors.
