Janet Michelmore AO

Janet Michelmore is a founder and former CEO for Jean Hailes for Women's Health.
She graduated from Monash University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and Diploma of Education.
Jean Hailes for Women's Health is a national not-for-profit organisation providing important services for women from adolescence to midlife and beyond. The organisation develops and manages an extensive range of programs both nationally and internationally with the chief focus being on keeping women well and helping them to manage their own health needs.
An important feature of Janet's work at Jean Hailes has been the establishment of a translation model that addresses gaps in knowledge then converts research evidence and clinical care into information streams that meet the needs of women and health professionals. Over its 30 year history, Janet has ensured that the activities and emphasis of Jean Hailes have evolved to meet the changing health needs of women in Australia. Janet has strong connections within government, across leading health organisations, consumer advocacy groups, research bodies and the philanthropic trust sector. She has been invited to be part of national and State advisory bodies.
