Janine Stewart

Janine is currently Executive General Manager, Human Resources, RBS & Marketing at Commonwealth Bank of Australia, which she joined in July 2014. Her previous role was Group Director People and Culture at News Corp Australia. Alongside her executive role she is also a non executive director of Career One and the NSW TAFE Commission. At News Corp Janine is responsible for developing and driving the Company's new people strategy and leading its cultural change program. Janine began her career at Ansett Australia in 1995, working in a number of strategy and business roles. In 2002 she joined Qantas and worked in senior business line roles and also HR roles across the organisation, with responsibility for 7,000 staff worldwide. In 2007 Janine joined Perpetual's private wealth division and in 2008 was promoted to the role of Group Executive People and Culture at Perpetual. In 2011 Janine was recognised by the Financial Services Institute of Australia as a finalist in the Most Outstanding Woman in Financial Services Award and was also a finalist in the 2010 EOWA Australian Diversity Leader - Business Achievement Award for the Advancement of Women
